The World Rowing Coastal Championships and Beach Sprint Finals in Genoa represent an unmissable event for the Croatian national beach sprint team, which arrives at the competition with great determination and clearly defined expectations.
The Croatian team will be represented in Genoa by two crews: the CM1x (men’s single sculls) and the CMix2x (mixed double sculls). Both crews have already proven their worth in recent competitions, particularly at the European Championships in Gdańsk, where both the men’s and women’s single scullers reached the final eight, and the mixed double finished in tenth place.
Since last year, when the team began preparations for the Mediterranean Beach Games, where they won one silver and two bronze medals, the athletes have made significant progress. “In the first part of this year, our national team participated in many national and international races, which provided excellent experience for them”, says Nickol Udovicic, coach of the Croatian beach sprint team, “I hope that their results will attract more athletes to this new discipline”.
He also emphasized the uniqueness of beach sprinting, stating that “the fun and relaxed atmosphere during the races is definitely something to experience”. With the World Championships being the culmination of the season, Udovicic expressed hope that his team could play a significant role in the competition.
Led by their coach and supported by the determination of the athletes, the Croatian team is ready to showcase the results of their hard work throughout the year and make their mark in Genoa.
