Japan is also competing in the 2024 Coastal Rowing World Championship in Genoa. Genki Iimori is part of the Japanese delegation, competing in the men’s endurance single event.

The Japanese athlete, captivated by the Genoese atmosphere, says: “I am very happy, the people here are kind, and as I walk through the buildings, I can feel the history of the city.”

After the excitement of this morning’s race, Iimori feels confident about the changing sea conditions in the afternoon: “I can’t wait to compete, I see some good waves coming in and hope the perfect conditions will form to get back in the water”.
