The World Rowing Coastal Championships & Beach Sprint Finals are coming soon. This prestigious international event will be hosted in Genoa at San Nazaro Beach from September 6th to 15th, as part of the Genoa 2024 European Capital of Sport program.

This event will feature two key disciplines: endurance and beach sprint. The endurance race is an world competition for clubs, while the beach sprint involves one crew per nation in the first World Championships since this discipline was included in the Olympic program, debuting at Los Angeles 2028.

“A world rowing event strongly supported by the City of Genoa and its Mayor,” said Marco Dodero, President of the event’s Organizing Committee. “A discipline like the Beach Sprint, debuting at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and already an Olympic discipline in Genoa in September, in a dedicated area along Genoa’s most frequented beaches. A wonderful race in a spectacular location. We are ready for this challenge.”

San Nazaro Beach on Corso Italia will be the venue for this event. Scheduled from September 6th to 15th, the endurance races will take place the first weekend, while the Beach Sprint Finals will occur the second weekend. This is the second time in a row that Italy hosts after last year’s edition in Barletta, Apulia.
