The World Rowing Coastal Championships & Beach Sprint Finals are coming. This international event will take place in Genoa at San Nazaro Beach on Corso Italia, from September 6th to 15th, as part of the Genoa 2024 European Capital of Sport program.

Two coastal rowing disciplines will be featured: endurance and beach sprint. The endurance race is a top-tier world competition for clubs, while the beach sprint involves one crew per nation in the first World Championships since this discipline was added to the Olympic program, debuting at Los Angeles 2028.

“We are proud to present the World Rowing Coastal Championships & Beach Sprint Finals, a world-class event in the year of Genoa as the European Capital of Sport,” said the Mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci. “Our sea and coasts will become an incredible race field capable of hosting high-level challenges. Genoa is ready to welcome athletes, coaches, professionals, and enthusiasts, offering them an extraordinary experience. I invite all Genoese to participate in this great spectacle.”

The location will be San Nazaro Beach on Corso Italia. The World Championship is scheduled from September 6th to 15th, with the first weekend featuring the endurance discipline, and the second weekend hosting the Beach Sprint Finals with national teams. This is Italy’s second time in a row hosting, following last year’s event in Barletta, Apulia.
