This evening, at 7:00 PM CET, the official Opening Ceremony of the World Rowing Coastal Championships & Beach Sprint Finals will take place in the prestigious Sala delle Grida at the Palazzo della Borsa in Genoa.
At the event, which will kick off one of the most anticipated sports events of the year, several institutions will be present, including the Mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci, the President of World Rowing, Jean-Christophe Rolland, the Regional Sports Councillor, Simona Ferro, and the Municipal Sports Councillor, Alessandra Bianchi.
The World Championships, taking place from September 6th to 15th at San Nazaro Beach, in the stunning setting of Corso Italia, will see the participation of athletes from all over the world. The competition schedule includes endurance races in the first weekend, followed by the thrilling beach sprint competitions in the second weekend.
This event not only showcases international sporting excellence but also holds a special place in Genoa’s calendar, as the city has been named the European Capital of Sport 2024. Coastal rowing, with its open-sea challenges, embodies the spirit of the city, which has long been connected to the sea and its traditions.
